About
WHO ARE WE?
Who we are matters most to those we serve. We first strive to see the individual in need. We meet them where they are. We care enough to offer a chance to NOT remain there - if they choose. 501(c)(3) faith-based nonprofit organization. Founded in 1903, entrusted to transform lives for over 100 years. Serve individuals experiencing homelessness in nine Indiana counties and two adjacent Ohio counties. We welcome everyone, 365 days a year. Individuals receive cost-free services through us. No government funding—fueled by the generosity of individuals, foundations, churches, businesses, and trust.
ONE MISSION; THREE LOCATIONS
At The Rescue Mission (downtown Fort Wayne location) and Charis House we serve children, women, and men. This includes providing three meals every day, and providing a Community Center, and programs. Treasure House includes our retail thrift store and donation center. At Treasure House, we provide affordable goods, vocational training, rehabilitation, and life-skill programs.
WHAT WE DO
Provide on-site medical and mental health resources, career and educational support, and spiritual care. Through engaging every child, woman, and man we advocate for their personal development. It often starts with a meal - human services- meeting the immediate needs of individuals. We engage with individuals, partner them with a dedicated client advocate, and help to identify and address barriers.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
It takes a community to address homelessness. Those experiencing it cannot go it alone, nor can those serving them. The Rescue Mission is powered by a community of generous funders, volunteers, and staff. They make our work possible - to provide a home and transform the lives of those we serve. Our supporters say YES to men, women and children 365 days a year. We collaborate with partners to build a community network of service providers for people experiencing homelessness. You can, too.
