Mission Statement
Volunteer Proofreaders for Project Gutenberg at UTD is formed to provide a completely virtual volunteer opportunity and bring awareness to the vast availability of open access public domain ebooks and online resources by working with and volunteering for the 501(c)3 nonprofit ‘Project Gutenberg’ and it’s affiliate Distributed Proofreaders. This organization will offer the UTD students with an unlimited amount of volunteer hours with the most flexible schedule that could possibly exist. This organization values philanthropy, the access to free information, preserving history, and increasing the knowledge and resources available for our current and future generations.
