Prison Ministry
The Prison Ministry is an outreach ministry that takes the Good News into the criminal justice system by providing worship services, Bible Study and mentorship. Signature Events include Angel Tree, where volunteers arrange for Christmas gifts to be donated to the children of incarcerated parents on their behalf; Pen Pal Program & Men’s Mentoring, which matches volunteers who may not wish to go into the prisons with inmate pen pals who are encouraged through the writing of letters; and In-Prison Life Plan Seminars, which provide prisoners who are near release with practical goal setting skills to help them adjust to life on the outside and become productive citizens in the community. Volunteers must be born again Christians, complete the TDCJ Certification Program, complete the Prison Fellowship Ministries VIP training, and be willing to grow spiritually through Bible Study and prayer.
